Job Summary:

Daraz Payments is the fintech arm of Daraz, driving seamless, secure, and innovative payment experiences across South Asia. We partner with leading banks, wallets, and payment networks to enable smooth transactions for millions of users and merchants every day. As we continue to expand and innovate, we’re looking for a dynamic Manager – Payments Channel & Experience to oversee and optimize our payment channels in Pakistan. The Manager – Payments Channel & Experience will be responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic optimization across all Daraz payment channels in Pakistan. This includes managing channel costs, integrations, and performance, ensuring a frictionless payment experience for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep understanding of digital payments and financial operations, and experience working cross-functionally across technology, product, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Channel Cost Management & Strategy

  • Monitor and analyze channel and Alipay cost performance on a daily basis.
  • Lead reconciliation processes and ensure cost accuracy across systems.
  • Execute channel cost optimization strategies in alignment with regional targets.

Channel Integration & Project Management

  • Manage end-to-end channel integration projects in collaboration with country and regional teams — from research and business requirement documentation (BRD) to execution and go-live.
  • Coordinate with tech, product, and finance teams to ensure smooth deployment of new channels.

Channel Optimization & Requirements Handling

  • Address and prioritize channel optimization requests from country teams and partners.
  • Implement enhancements to improve transaction success rates and user experience.

Channel Structure Optimization

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase low-cost channel utilization through data sharing, e-wallet partnerships, and merchant category code (MCC) optimization.
  • Explore new card and gateway improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Contract & Vendor Management

  • Manage and track channel project contracts, ensuring timely renewals and compliance.
  • Liaise with external partners, banks, and fintech providers for ongoing operational support.

Issue Analysis & Resolution

  • Conduct top issue analysis for customer care (CC) escalations and develop sustainable fixes.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to implement long-term optimizations.

Support Projects & Campaigns

  • Lead or support special projects such as COD+ and QROD initiatives to improve overall payments efficiency.
  • Provide payment channel support during major campaigns (e.g., 11.11, 12.12, etc.), ensuring readiness and stability across all payment methods.

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 4–6 years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or e-commerce roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or BI tools.
  • Experience managing payment channels, cost structures, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong understanding of digital payments landscape (wallets, cards, gateways, COD).
  • Experience in a regional or multi-country setup is an advantage.
