Job Summary:

The Manager, Payables, is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) function within the Shared Services department. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of payments, adherence to company policies, and maintenance of strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. The Manager, Payables, will lead a team of AP professionals, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Shared Services operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payments.
  • Monitor and manage AP workflows, resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and resolving any payment-related issues.
  • Manage vendor inquiries and disputes, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the AP function.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline AP processes and reduce manual workload.
  • Prepare and analyze AP reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the AP function, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Treasury, and Accounting, to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and resolving issues as needed.

 

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field / ACCA / CA
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.Experience working in a Shared Services environment.Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
